most cash efficient way of transferring money Holland - UK?

As the title says, I am looking to transfer circa 20,000 Euros from my bank account in Holland to my UK Bank account when I return next month

I can only tell you from a German point of view, but there shouldn't be much difference. I usually just make a transfer in EURO, this way the German bank can only charge me the small fee for a EU transfer, and my UK bank does not charge for the currency conversion. However, not all UK banks do this without charges, and the conversion rate is usually not very good.
For this reason, some German friends prefer moneybookers for either direction.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

the poor conversion rate is the main gripe as for transferring a few hundred Euros it isn't a problem but on 20k + it all adds upNo Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
