    Xmas Saver!
    Santas Challenge - December

Xmas Eve, were going to be busy checking everything ok, (or in our case dirty washing!!!), so thought get organised and pop it on early.

    Prescriptions

Just a quick reminder to check whether you need any prescriptions, cough, cold relief, plasters, headache tablets, upset tum remedies all ready.

    2012
Did you manage to stick to your budgets, would you do anything different, just have a double check on your lists to make sure you haven't missed anyone out, (while youve got chance to get a present)

    2013
Which ever method you find best for listing who you need to buy for, have your lists and budgets ready for 2013,

    Present Time
If you get chance keep a notepad and pen handy when your unwrapping presents, not just to see who brought you what, but if you need to "regift" you won't be regifting it to the same person!!

A suggestion - if you have children, take a photo of them with the present, so you can email the photo across to the person, - saves remembering a thank you letter and what do they do little'un.

    Re-cycle
Most councils will take cards and paper, I know our local council won't take paper if it has glitter on it, but you could always save the cards and use them as gift tags for next Christmas

    Sales
Some of the shops are starting there sales before xmas, but most be online xmas day and shops boxing day, - but its only a bargain if you really need it or can use it.

    Turkey
check the defrosting time and allow plenty of time for cooking

    Share the duties
as they say all hands to deck, if someone wants to wash up, give them the rubber gloves!!

    Miss Hoodies corner
As its the season of goodwill, ur all excused from any cleaning duties!!
Merry Christmas and thank you to everyone for making this thread so successful.
    xx

Merry Christmas Mum2one and Miss Hoodie, and well done for running the thread again this year, been a fabulous thread yet again. I have just ordered my prescription online as although I keep thinking I must do it I kept forgetting so that's done and I can pick it up later in the week so thanks for the reminder.

    Happy travels mum2one :)

Scalded my arm quite badly last night, feeling a bit delicate today - but still things to do. Mostly tidying ready for Santa - he won't come if everywhere's a mess.

I put up a surprise tiny tree in DD's bedroom last night after she was asleep. She loved it :D

Enjoy your travels! Photos on return?

I got quite alot done in tescos yesterday on lunch break, rose wine reduced 3 bottles to £12 (happens to be my fav and also great at £6.50 a bottle normally!) chocolate coins and notes ready for my "treasure hunt" which will eventually lead to Egyptian dollars for our holiday next year :) Got 10 clues going to put around the house in the middle of night but throw the scent off by adding a few coins dotted around without a clue lol. Also got an early grey tea jar reduced to £4 (love the jar, bf can have the tea lol) Got a list as long as my arm still to go but at least got a half day on friday :)
Life is what you make it.

Didn't miss anyone out, but spent too much!! lol

Linking to the last comment, I'm starting to save vouchers!! But will copy over my list from this year to next year's spreadsheet!! lol

    Present Time
If you get chance keep a notepad and pen handy when your unwrapping presents, not just to see who brought you what, but if you need to "regift" you won't be regifting it to the same person!!

VERY good idea, and with DD ill on her birthday, I forgot to do that for her so I knew who to thank for what! Will do it for tomorrow and next week! (Can then make sneaky notes about my gifts too. lol)

A suggestion - if you have children, take a photo of them with the present, so you can email the photo across to the person, - saves remembering a thank you letter and what do they do little'un.

I do this via Facebook too! Tag the present giver!

    Sales

    Can't afford to! lol

Got all my defrosting planned and ready to go!

  • Happy travels mum2one & Miss Hoodie!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Been AWOL over the weekend - DD's birthday on Sunday but she's not been well! So wasn't her usual self which was a shame. Finally seems that she's on the mend, so fingers crossed she'll enjoy tomorrow (fake Xmas day with the in laws), and be back on top form for the real Xmas day!

The only time on her birthday she was her normal self was when she saw her castle birthday cake and her new castle bed! Bless her.

Would share pics but need somewhere to upload them too other than Facebook - my privacy settings on there are too high I think to allow them to post on here.....

Hope you're all sorted for Christmas. Thinking of you all. Sending best wished to the AWOL Mary. MASSIVE thanks to mum2one for running the thread!!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year all! See you on the new thread in January!
