broken sofa

Hi,

My sofa is broken it is apparent it is now negative equity. Fair Enough.

repair- not possible
replacement - discussing
refund - purchase price minus 20% which again is acceptable

1)Is the replacement supposed to match the value of purchase price or does wear and tear apply?

2) Would I be able to replace for like for like? Company is pushing for cheaper option.

    How old is it?

Where did you buy it from?

    Original cost price?

    What has broken? (and how?)

My understanding is wear and tear now play a factor. In fact if they could get hold of a secondhand one to the same age and design they would be in their rights to offer you this.

The offer of a refund -20% seems reasonable take it before they change their mind

If the Leather as cracked I'd wonder if they had passed the OP off with Bicast Leather, there are a number of threads on here concerning this product.
