BARCLAYS BANK PLC-EMC COMPUTER S credit search

Hello all,
Firstly, I apologise if this isn't really the correct forum but I wasn't sure where to post this.
I have a new credit search on Equifax listed as
Does anyone have any idea what this might relate to? The only thing I can think of is when I used my Barclays debit card to pay my credit card bill a couple of days ago (all very routine) a different verified by visa system popped up that asked me three questions like "What telephone number have you previously been associated with?", rather than asking for my password. It all verified ok and the payment has gone through. But why would this result in a credit search? There certainly wasn't any warning it would, and I've had my bank account with barclays for about 8 years. I was under the impression you have to specifically opt in to searches anyway?
If Barclays are the source of the credit search, which I'm fairly sure they must be, I'm a bit annoyed seeing as I've recently had a two other credit searches for a mortgage and new phone contract. I don't want another totally pointless one just lingering there. If it wasn't Barclays who made the search, does anyone know what it might relate to? If not, what action should I take if it has nothing to do with me? Contact Equifax?
Thanks.

Not all credit searches show up when you (for example) apply for credit. For example, unrecorded enquiries, or identification verification will only be shown to you, not lenders.
Secondly, lenders may search your report whilst you have credit with them (for example, people you have credit with, or a current account), not just when you apply for that credit.
You need to read the rest of the search to see the type/etc of this search.0 -
Its just an identity check so it will not be seen by lenders when making a credit application.
I have just copied this from my exquifax credit report.

Ah ok, thanks. I guess Equifax don't show the type of search without buying a new report then.0

Possibly an insurance quote, possibly through confused.com, possibly where Barclays was the ultimate one doing the underwriting though it may have be quote for through an intermediary/broker.0
