Am going to Malta with 12 yr old girl next week for 4 days.
Any ideas of really good things to do and places to eat.
Staying in St.George`s Bay.
Also - what currency is best to take ?

You can certainly fill a couple of days in Malta. Visit Valletta (great views across the harbour to the east, plus the archaeological museum). Also go to the Hypogeum (extraordinary, but need to book online asap), Mdina and Hagar Qim. Fontanella Tea Gardens in Mdina are good for lunch.0

Oh, I love Malta.
Take Maltese Lira with you as the exchange rate when you get there isn't very good.
I think most of the shops in the main shopping areas take Euros, however, I'm not certain.
Valletta is worth a visit, also take a dander to the shops in Sliema - you'll find Zara, H&M etc.
I stayed in St George's Bay before - not a bad place at all. In the shopping centre, be sure to check out the cafe on the top floor - they have a HUGE selection of cakes and desserts - out of this world!Wannabee champagne girl...on a beer income.0 -

Have to disagree with you there.I have been to Malta many times over the years as hubby and family are Maltese and we always take sterling with us as the rate is better there.
We always get our money changed at local shops(they advertise their rates on boards outside),normally the ones that sell excursions and always get a much better rate than in the UK.
Dont exchange sterling at the banks as the rates there are not as good."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
