Hi everyone,
Please help if you can.
I have purchased an Innotab for my young son and then purchased an SD card without reading the advice. I bought a micro SD CARD which couldn't be read by the Innotab Learning Lodge but reliased this error once I had seen the VTECH advice and website.
SO I bought one of the recommended SD cards, the Sandisk SD. I bought the 2gb model.
It still doesn't work!!! In the Innotab Learning Lodge I get the message that there is no SD card!! I have tried a variety of different ways (turning on and off again etc) but with no luck.
Please help, I really want to download some new games and music for my son for Christmas day.
Merry Christmas everyone

Have you done what is suggested on the VTECH website and confirmed that the SD card is formatted with a compatible filesystem (i.e. FAT, FAT16 or FAT32).
You will probably need to connect it to a computer (or put the SD card in a card reader in a PC) to do this, and to format it if not correctly formatted.0 -
Thanks for your reply mate.
I've just checked and it is FAT compatible.....so I'm still a bit stuck!
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance0 -
Don't panic
I had a similar problem. Recognising the sdcard seemed to be very hit and miss initially & vtech instructions not much help. Finally got it to work by doing it in this order
Insert SD card in Innotab
connect Innotab to computer,
open the Learning Lodge,
open the Music icon on the innotab
Learning lodge then found the sdcard
If that doesn't work try transferring a few mp3's onto the sd card using your computer and then put the pre-loaded sdcard in innotab and click on music icon. This works for me.
Hope you succeed.
Regards
ps just googles and found these comments on http://answers.walmart.com/answers/1336/product/16672573/questions.htm
At another site, one reviewer stated that you need to turn off your Innotab, insert the SD card, turn it back on, and then click the photo icon, music icon, & video icon each one at a time in order for the Innotab to create the necessary folders on your SD card before you load any content from your computer.

I figured this out!! You cannot load them through the Learning lodge. I did these steps and was successful!
1) put sd card into innotab and power it on. Open the videos app file and or whatever app files you want to add info to from your computer to the sd card and then close them. This creates files onto the innotab sd card inside to add files from your computer to.
2) Plug in the innotab to the coputer and turn it on.
3) when the learning lodge loads, minimize it.
4) your computer should pull up the option automatically when you plug in the innotab for what to do with the external hardrive you just plugged in (the innotab), choose the first one, "open files to view folders"
5) click on the external hard drive folder (in my case it was the usb port external hard drive g) and double click on the LLN folder (learning lodge folder)
6) you should now see several folders (the ones you opened beforehand)
7)now click on the file with the movie you want to transfer (I had them minimized on my computer) and drag it to the file folder for videos on the innotab sd drive.
8) It will say copying to folder and take a few minutes.
9) once done, just unhook the innotab and power it up, click on the videos app and they should be there!
It took me days to figure this out, but I have now successfully transferred 6 full length movies to my innotabs for my kiddos. Hope this helps!0 -
I really appreciate the response but I'm still having problems!! It doesn't seem to be reading the SD card at all, I can't use the drag files method as the size of the external memory (Innotab built-in memory) only shows as 31mb approx.
I've tried all these methods with no luck
Maybe it's a problem with the system. Any other methods greatly appreciated.0 -
Could it be a faulty memory card? Can you drag mp3's on2it on your computer?0

It seems like the SD card is fine, can drag files into on my computer. I guess it must be the Innotab? Am going to get onto Vtech and Toys R us for a replacement. Thanks for the support guys.

I had the same issue with mine -- I did the following:
1. Through control panel->Administrative Tools->Storage Manager I deleted the partitions.
2. Recreate the partition as FAT (not FAT32 which it was)
3. Profit.
Kind Regards,
