Citi 2.9% life of balance rate?

I've just received through the post an invitation from Citi for their Platinum Visa card which appears to be offering a 2.9% pa rate on balance transfers fixed for lifetime of the balance. As this appears to be better than any other card mentioned on this site I assume there's gotta be a catch! Can anybody enlighten me?

Can't help, but was wondering is this by invite only? Or can anyone get it?

I had a quick look on their website and it was quoting 5.8%, so double the offer I've been sent, so perhaps you're right and it is by invite only. I wasn't actually aware that they did that!

I got this invite a couple of months ago and applied for it and yes it is 2.9% life of balance (just look out for the time period for doing this - it said 6 months on the form but they only gave me unitl mid april to make the transfer). My Dad wants to apply for this card now but they won't send him an application for this offer, only the 5.8% one. If anyone has an application form they don't want for this please pm me!

Thanks double0, so it seems like a genuine offer and a good one at that. The letter does say that I have to apply by Mid April and tell them which balances I want to transfer, but it also says I can transfer anytime within the first 6 months. Seeing as this is, I assume, better than any loan you can get I guess the sticking point could be what kind of limit they are willing to give.
