I am going to get a credit card to help build my credit score and show a good repayment history but i dont know which to get, a lot of people have told me to apply for my own banks card but im also interested by tescos 0% purchase offer, would the type of card make any difference on my credit file an if so which would be better, help please.

Unless you have had a credit card before for several years, you are likely to be rejected by Tesco, and most of the other prime cards.
If you go for your own bank, they'll use internal scoring to give you a better score, so you stand more chance of getting the card if you kept your accounts in good conduct.0 -
your bank should be your first port of call for your first credit card as they know more about you than any other lender.
if you get rejected by your bank and you have conducted your accounts well, it may be worth looking at your credit file and trying a sub prime lender such as vanquis0 -
