It was always a family tradition in our house to cook the turkey while we were at midnight mass, and have turkey and bread sauce sandwiches when we got in, while opening the presents from under the tree (not the ones from santa, obviously, cos he hadn't been by then).
Nowadays I don't do the mass, but I still enjoy my turkey sandwich around midnight, it is like 'Ahhhhh.... now it's Christmas!!!'I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
What size turkey do you have? Ours only takes just under 3 hours it would burn if we left it overnight lol
I think they probably do it on a low temp . My MIL used to do this , and the turkey was dry and tasteless , I do mine on Christmas morning , a fresh turkey only takes a few hours , we also have a rib of beef ( range cooker so two ovens ) . All meat needs to be rested after cooking , so we take it out wrap in foil then bung in everything else .........I'm cooking for 15 , and still dont have to cook the meat the day beforeVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
