We have in the past, but the last couple of years we have cooked our turkey on Christmas morning. We are going to do the same this year, it doesn't take that long - will pop it in early. You can't have everything.........where would you put it?0

If I cook our turkey breast/thigh joint in the morning, should I cool it completely before warming up again to eat with everything else? I'm not sure there will be long enough to cool it :-(******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

I always cook my meat xmas eve. I then put it in the oven the next day - wrapped tightly in tin foil, with water (about 1/2 inch) in the base of the roaster for 20-30 mins. It then comes out lovely and moist.... saves a lot of hassle - I do my roasts and roasted parsnips at the same time as I reheat the meat.0

We don`t like hot meat so always cook sometime on the 24th0

well our turkey is cooked, carved and in foil trays (with a bit of stock) in the freezer to pop in the bottom of the oven on crimbo day.
my ham is cooked and sliced and in the fridge - so I can concentrate on the spuds and veg on the day x"A wise mum remembers her friends at all times, a foolish mum, only when she has need of them..."0 -
My Mum always did it overnight so you'd wake up on xmas day to the smell of roast turkey wafting through the house. I do the same too. Frees up the oven for the rest of the stuff too. I also prepare my veg the night before and just change the water they're in on the day.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

I am cooking our turkey in the morning, but as we are always out and about visiting Christmas morning I don't know whether to put it in early....but then it will only be warm if lucky by the time we want to eat it or put it in later in the morning. On the packaging it says not to reheat.0

What size turkey do you have? Ours only takes just under 3 hours it would burn if we left it overnight lolWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
