They have started already

A colleague who knows I 'ebay a bit' has sent me an email she got this afternoon at around 3pm for a dress she has had up on BIN for the past 20+ days.

'Hi, I'm just about to buy this but wanted to confirm I will definitely get it for Christmas, TIA'

My colleague wanting shot of the dress responded with 'I can send it special delivery with the guaranteed saturday element but it will cost X and I would need to have payment by 4pm as I need to be at the Post office urgently'

At just gone 5pm she got back 'why do you want X for postage when your listing is showing only X- shame on you getting greedy at this time of year- I hope it doesn't sell now'

Original postage was for 1st class recorded as colleague had expected to sell the dress when she first listed it. Potential bidder obviously blocked now- but don't people realise tomorrow is Christmas Eve?

Someone's been on the Mulled wine!

oooh, mulled wine- must hold off though until I finish listing these items, don't want to muck up my overseas postage again. :j

So, how is every one doing with their 'where is my item' emails which always seem to be such a feature of this time of year because they all bought at the last moment.

I was told by the Post Office, that one woman last year, asked why her next day delivery would not arrive the next day...the "next day" was Christmas Day!

  • Lucky she didn't pay. I thought the story was going to be 'at 5'o clock she paid for next day Special Delivery...'

I have every sympathy , I once had a lady leave me negative feedback on Christmas Day because her party dress hadn't arrived. She had paid at 8pm the night before on Christmas Eve. When I queried this with her she claimed that other items bought from another seller at the same time had arrived so her feedback was reasonable. Maybe the other seller had a contract with Santa?
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

Used to get this every year when I worked for Kays/Great Universal/Littlewoods on the phones - and it wasn't just clothing; it was the Christmas toys and white goods that were expected 'next day'.

Which is why I turned all my listings off a week ago. Didn't need the hassle this year!

I recently got a low star for something ordered on the Mon, dispatched on the Tues am and delivered at 8am on the Wed. Fortunately eBay removed it. (I assume that the buyer thought that "24 hour courier" meant that they would receive it within 24 hours )

as a buyer of a cd for a present my first question on sunday before i bought it was when would the seller be posting it as 2nd class priority, they let me know and i took the risk of whether it turned up on time, it did, but i would nether dream of negging someone if i had not ordered in time,:D

ah, you are able to take responsibility for your actions. So many people seem unable to do such a simple thing....
