Need a party venue

My son's 2nd birthday is on a Saturday next year. I want to get ahead re organising his party (fairly big family do ) but am struggling to find a venue. I'm looking at Cardiff, Pontypridd, Caerphilly, Penarth sorts of areas.
I don't want a leisure centre or soft play type place.
I really want a pub/restaurant with a good function room, play facilities or space for kids (either inside or out) with lots of parking. If I'm buying a buffet I want decent choices and good value. Will be around 50 adults and 15 children (aged 1-6).
Ideally wanted Llandaff Rowing Club but they have weddings on every Saturday. Party has to be on the Saturday.
Does anyone know of anywhere suitable?
I suppose if worst came to the worst I'd self cater at a good village hall. So any experience with those appreciated too.

Come on, surely someone's local has a function room and playground?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Hi,
Try the 'Rose & Crown' pub in Abertridwr. They have a conservatory which they use as a function room and it sits 70 seated (for a wedding) so would easily cater for all your guests.
It's not the most modern of places but the food is excellent quality and great value. There is also a children's play area outside - although I have no experience of using this. The pub itself is very old and is very quaint inside.
May be worth you popping up to see if you like it/suits your needs.
P.S. the only link to the pub is that I held my wedding reception there last year and was very pleased with the food/price/service.0
