Asda direct delivery!?

Well I ordered an item last week on Friday and I rang up on the following Tuesday asking for when it is going to come. They said it will come by Wed...it is Friday now. I rang up again today and they said the courier has tried to deliver it twice to my house. There was someone in my house all week as it being crimbo. So I asked if they had the right address and asked Asda if I can have the number of the courier service. They couldn't give the number for some reason, something to do with it being an extension to them or something. This is a present for Christmas that I believe is not going to come. They said it will be sent for delivery today so I'm patiently and eagerly waiting. Whats going on?

If it's only being sent out today, then unless they send it special delivery, you won't get it for Christmas. Well, you might, but I wouldn't hold my breath.0
