Waited all morning for an order placed on Monday due today, then checked on the City Link website only to see they said they attempted delivery and were unable to gain entry.
The intercom never rang once. No card was left. Though they said they couldn't gain entry through the main door which hasn't happened in probably ten years, if that. No one has a problem getting through the main door, I even received a last minute delivery earlier this morning.
So my cat who has been sick is without all the stuff he needed before Xmas and I'm pretty sure I cannot get some of the specialized food and nutritional drinks from anywhere else in time.
I'm never ordering from this company again, it's the second time I've had a problem with delivery and their response has been less than satisfactory. Never, ever, ever again...even if they're giving away nature's menu for a pound.

Search online and you'll see that this has happened to hundreds if not thousands of people.
Personally I find it very annoying when companies do this. If they haven't turned up, then that's one thing. But, if they say they've been when they haven't, then that's insult upon injury.
I presume the companies do it because they're supposed to make a certain number of attempts to deliver, and these will count as one attempt.0 -
It's not Pet Planets fault , it is Citylinks. Pet Planet has sent the products out, on time and to your order.
Have you tried ringing Citylink? Where in the country do you live? You may be able to pick up from the depot, or get a friend to do it for you if you supply ID for collection.0 -
Lots of flats have dodgy intercoms.I get this sometimes-customer says I haven't rung when I know for an absolute fact that I have.Trade buttons can also work on one block but not the next and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
This might not have happened to you in 10 years, but how often do you need to use your own intercom?0 -

This is the second time I've had a problem with their couriers and although I can understand where you are coming from in terms of it not directly being their fault, their responses to issues are irritating. When I placed an order for next day delivery and it didn't arrive the next day, I had to chase it up and it was like "oops it missed the van, happens sometimes" *shrug*. When CityLink delivered a cancelled order and refused to take it back, similar attitude and now they seem to be insisting the delivery guy tried to deliver the item today and they don't apologize for anything, they simply do not appear to care. CityLink is contracted by them, they shouldn't simply wash their hands of what happens at the other end. If I paid to have something returned to them via an unreliable carrier and they had problems receiving it I would actually try and chase it up.
Other retailers have at the very least been a lot more apologetic and helpful when something has gone wrong. And I can't go to the depot it's too far away.Lots of flats have dodgy intercoms.I get this sometimes-customer says I haven't rung when I know for an absolute fact that I have.Trade buttons can also work on one block but not the next and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

I use it often seeing as how I don't personally have a key for the main door. As does Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Royal Mail, Domino's Pizza, other carriers etc, when they deliver here frequently. No one has a problem getting through the main door, if they ring the intercom and get no answer because no one is in it's left with a neighbor or a card is left.0
