Leasehold Property - entering negotiations to buy the Freehold

hi, it is a leasehold house, not a flat, there is only a ground rent of £250 pa.

I appreciate it's a house, but similar principles could apply.
You've not said how many share the drive, but if it's one other house, the occupiers of that are almost certainly leasehold and may be interested in buying the freehold.
I think you've nothing to lose by asking them their understanding of the situation, and floating the idea of making a joint purchase.0
