Thanks for this You may well be right about the price I guess I will find out and it is not unusual to negotiate rents with renters I understand what you are saying regarding furniture in situ but that was moved our 6 months ago before it was renovated redecorated recarpeted so dont think I will put some in just for viewings Where did you get your rental from?
  • we've used Marques, Clarke Mews and Leaders for renting - obviously I am only one opinion (other opinions are available!) but I wouldn't recommend any of them.
Friends who rent out their property use Aspire and I've not heard anything bad from them.
The main place for agents is London Road, and I'd imagine as long as you're with someone on that street you'll get plenty of passing trade!
  • This is a very nice flat: and the development looks good. Good sized rooms too. Unable to offer any other insight as don't know southampton but just wanted to wish you good luck with renting it out.

Student accomodation on the nearby "flowers" estate are around £320 pcm/room, so yours looks a little expensive, for some reason students like to live 4/5 to a house. personally I'd prefer to pay a little more for yours.
I'm not sure your neighbours will appreciate you letting it out to students ?
I'm guessing most, if not all students, have their accomodation sorted, in fact first years will already be looking for next academic years accomodation.

Tell the agent this is specifically the type of student that the flat would suit.

Postgraduates actually need the quiet so living next to old people/families/etc would be a bonus for them.

Also they don't mind living 2 to a flat rather than in a house of many as they aren't after the fun of living with mates and having parties at random times.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
