Getting a refund from a company that's gone into administration

Options
Hi,

I posted another thread in the Vent forum yesterday regarding a company called Fashion Rocks.

Last Friday I purchased a tshirt from them for £50.
I got the order confirmation and on there it said to await a further email to confirm it had been despatched.

Fast forward to Wednesday this week and I rang them up to find out what was going on as I still hadn't received the follow up email.

After speaking to a very awkward customer service rep I found that that the order was still to be processed, I asked to cancel as it was suppose to be a Christmas present!

They said fine and put a note on the order to cancel it.

Yesterday I emailed on the back of my order confirmation to find out when my refund would be put back onto my credit card, nothing.

I then tried to call and the number was out of order!
Someone on here kindly copy/pasted an article from yesterday to say that the company had gone into administration!

I've contacted Natwest Mastercard and they tell me not to worry as I am covered, however they have put the onus on Fashion Rocks to get in contact with me to sort it all out, which I'm not holding out any hope, since a £50 transaction is nothing to them in the grand scheme of things!

Natwest have said to wait until the 6th Jan for them to get in contact otherwise call them back again.

I did request a chargeback from Natwest but they won't do it until I exhaust trying to get Fashion Rocks to do it instead, but I can't even get in contact with them!

I've never been in this situation before, am I likely to get my refund processed or is my bank trying to pass the buck for the retailer to sort it out, which is probably very unlikely, and leaves me £50 down for at least a month, £50 which is my money!!

Thanks
Shaun

You will not normally get anything from the bank until you have received confirmation that you are not going to get a refund from the company. Contact the administrators.

The good news - you will get your T-shirt or money back.
The bad news - it may not be for a number of months.

The company has your money, and between getting it and sending the T-shirts they have called in the administrators. They may save the company, in which case you may get your T-shirt, or they may wind them up, in which case you will get a refund from the bank. Unfortunately you just have to wait a while till it's all sorted out.

I dont think the OP would consider that good news as he cancelled the order :D
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
