Hi everyone :santa2:
I printed something in 'grey scale' and then coloured it in instead of printing in colour. Ha ha ha, I heart the small things
Other small things:
- leftovers for tonight's tea
- free cuppa in work
- staying in tonight, not going out for post-Chrimbo drinks
- doing a meal plan so I don't just keep buying what I think we might need/like
Apart from that I've just been feeling grateful
Might not get a chance to pop on here over the weekend, so wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas :xmassign::xmastree:
Take care over the festive season! :grouphug:0 -
aw so lovely to hear all ur tales & seeing everyone in the festive spirit! Karb if ur anywhere near South East kent you can pop some washing over to mine
Yargo you absolutely did the right thing :T although I feel your pain (I did exactly the same my with inheritance from when my nan died a few years ago, it was painful but for the best!)
Janey I am so Jelly please have a large one for me as I am on call until 9am on boxing day so no wine for me for the next few days...
Welsh I am so glad I offloaded the supermarket trip onto my oh :rotfl::rotfl: probably will be in the dog house when he gets back as he hates the super market at the best of times he he he!
Sorry rant alert! (its gonna be long) I am soooooooooo  I had a call from HR to let me know that they are deducting £508 from Jan's salary for AL used - I am entitled to 30 days a year, but carried over 4 from the year before as I couldn't take it due to staffing shortages, I have used 17 days but had 1 day returned due to the overtime I have been doing over the last 2 weeks & we were given an additional day last week as our company was granted gold status - how the £*$!???- so I have 19 days left. My leave year starts in Sept and I am leaving in Jan so that means I am entitled to a 3rd of my AL - you would think 10 days right? When she first told me I accepted it.
Over the course of the day it didn't ring true to me so I called HR back and said I thought there had been a mistake as my leave entitlement should be 10 days, I have used 17 but got 2 back so I thought I owed 1 day. She talked me through the calculations:
4 days carried over
2 additional days
30 days
divided by 12 months = 3pm * 4 months = 12
So I say no hang on a minute you cannot include the 4 days carreid over as I earnt then last year but couldn't take them as there wasn't any staff cover. She was insistent that that is the way they do it. I said I could see following the formula she is using thats how it works out but I thought that was wrong so I was going to contact ACAS and get some advice and come back to them. Ended the phone call annoyed but went off to my meeting. Get back to the office and get a call from HR they went through to ACAS and low and behold they were wrong and I actually owe 2 days! so £204 not £508  so incompetent! How many people just accept it and get shafted??? Going to make a formal complaint tomorrow.
Sorry rant over but needed to get that off my chest!DF as at 30/12/16
