When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Happy Friday everyone!!! :j 2 more days of work for me and then I'm off for a week hurrah!

    Morning everyone!

Thanks to DNMS for starting the thread - I saw elsewhere that you'd got a new job so congratulations!

    Today I will:
Get dressed in a mo and pop to Lidl for fruit and Boots for girly things for over the holidays
Pop into town and go to Barclays to pay in a cheque
Wrap last Christmas present - sadly, a Thorntons hamper with a Santa with a broken bum as Thorntons were unable to send me a whole one! Never mind, it'll get eaten either way!
Wrap up things just sold - yippee!
    Check banks
    Check CCs
    Check TCB
    Relist on Ebay
    Check Paypal
'Pay' myself - we got paid last Friday, and normally I'd get over excited and spend loads and then spend most of January panicking, so I popped it in my e-saver, and am paying myself today, on what would be a regular payday
    Pay some off CCs
    Tidy up a bit!
Do a couple surveys on SB.

    Have a great day all!

Morning everyone. Pay day at last. Boy, I need it!

Turkey is out of the freezer to defrost. Got my ex coming round for dinner, so I can have my boys with me.
Washing machine repairman can't come out until 4 January :-(.
Working in London today. Had the entire train carriage to myself for the first couple of stops.

    Today I will

    Check banking
Take washing to a friend tonight who is kindly letting me use her machine.
    Lunch on expenses
Do Christmas food shop at Aldi, then only get the last few bits at Sainsburys
    Charged phones on train
    Coffee/water at work

    Have a great day everyone
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

  • Hi everyone.
    Happy Belated birthday Woofer.
At work today on a quick break. Today is my last official day at my main job, am going on to bank though so will be back in on Tuesday.:p
Have picked up an overnighter on my bank job tonight so will finish one job at 9.30pm and go straight to next one! after that off till Tuesday.
    Todays list:
    NSD.
Washing machine is on, will hopefully be finished by my lunch break and I can get it hung on airer.
    Meals from house stores.
Take my sewing project to work tonight rather than the laptop so i'm not tempted to spend anything.
Have made 15p on Onepoll this morning, will check again later.
Will car share for a few calls tonight, my partners turn to drive.

Gonna go straight from work at 9am in the morning to Mr A to do mine and my Mum's fresh food shopping. cattle prod on charge tonight!.

Got my car insurance renewal through yesterday, nearly died off. Despite another years no claims (now up to 9 years) they have put it up by £70 (and they have put it on an automatic renewal). My 12 year old banger is only worth about £7-800 and they want £550 to insure it. :mad:Think I will be hunting round for a cheaper price in the New Year.

That'll have to do, off back out to work now. Happy Friday everyone.
  • Morning all
Finish work in apprx 48 mins;)
Then off to supermarket for some tv munchies and merlot, then I am going home, getting in my crimbo pjs and watching a movie (whilst noshing and drinking!)
And thats me for the rest of the day and I wont be back on here until after the festivities (unless I get a gob on and come home early!)

So have a good crimbo everyone, and thanks for the support over the last (broke) year! :iloveyou:
