I agree with sloughflint. I'm all for saving money but not immunising cats who go out and mix with other cats is irresponsible. If you can't/wont find the money for the jabs, then don't have cats. What next? "I don't feed my cats. I send them out to catch their own food, after all they're wild animals really, aren't they"?

SHould we say "oooh there's not really much measles about these days, I wont get my kids immunised"? No, you wouldn't say that, because it's free. If cat jabs were free, you'd be there every 12 months on the dot.

Several cat people I know would never have their cats vaccinated because they believe that some batches of vaccine are impure and can permanently damage the cats health. They would never have them vaccinated every year - there is no point as the vaccine lasts in the cats system. It's nothing to do with money saving.

It took her four years but my friend successfully sued a major drug company because of the damage to her three cats. They had to spend their entire lives cadged up awayfrom other cats because they were all infected so she claimed for their keep. The drug companies first off was just the fee for having them put down.

It's in the interest of the drug companies to tell cat owners to vaccinate every year.

It will help the OP if you post about annual injections, not your disagreements. The Discussion Time board is more suited to general chat.;)

Sorry, I didn't see the rule that said "thou shalt not deviate from the original post".
