I was wondering if this is a common practice?
Crashed my car last week, and based on the fact that the accident happened at 11PM (picking my son up from a party) the underwriters have arbitrarily decided to amend my policy from social to social & commuting. Oh and they are also going to charge me £25.79 for the privilege.
I am with (not for much longer) Admiral.

According to the new policy schedule that arrived this AM I am now insured for Social & Commuting. I do not use the car for commuting and never have.
I am keen to understand how the insurance underwriter can determine what I use the car for from the time and location of the accident, and then with no prior discussion, change my cover and charge me £25 .0 -
Have you asked them why?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

11pm seems an odd time to ascribe to commuting. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
