Its nice to be able to report great service from a large retailer - it seems to happen so rarely these days! :j
At the end of October I bought a £25.00 AmazonKindle gift card from Superdrug in Blackwood for my Dads birthday (he was having a Kindle from my mum). I gave him the gift card - all happy as far as I knew.
A couple of days ago my mum told me that nobody had been able to get the card to work and that Superdrug hadn't activated it properly at the till. Unfortunately because I purchased 2 months ago and they my parents hadn't told me they were having problems I'd thrown the receipt away (thinking my Dad would have bought quite a few books by now!).
Anyway, I decided to take the giftcard back to Superdrug and explain the situation, but wasn't expecting that they would be able to do anything as I didn't have the receipt. The lady behind the counter couldn't have been more helpful. She asked another member of staff to go and check the stores position with the manager and then explained that they had now stopped selling these giftcards because they had had a few problems with them.
The second member of staff returned and offered us a full refund - cash!! The MOST I expected would have been a credit note, and I wasn't really expecting that tbh.
So now I've purchased a different Amazon giftcard at a different store (and this one is definately activated) that I can give to my Dad. And Superdrug have gained a loyal customer because service like that means I'll definately be shopping there more often. Thanks Superdrug Blackwood!! :T
(PS I actually work for a rival pharmacy, so this praise doesn't come lightly :rotfl:)
