Our Baxi Bermuda w2 back boiler seems to have sprung a slow leak and I have seen these CH leak sealant fluids and wondered if these sealants were any good?

    In a word no.

They tend to work for a few months at the most and only with the smallest of leaks.
  • yes they do work andy,
my friend put fernox leak sealer into his boiler/system ten years ago,
    it has been fine since......
    bye

This stuff tends to be used when access to make a proper repair is restricted or likely to be prohibitly expensive.
It also depends how big and where the leak really is.
I've used it in the past with about a 50/50 success rate. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the stuff as it sometimes seals the leak then starts again at a later date which, as a professional, looks bad as customers then think you haven't done a proper job.
As a DIY though, I suppose you've got nothing to lose by trying it, you might be lucky.

  • update...fernox sealant not worked but did slow the leak down so it looks like a system drain is needed!

I wish I could say that I am surprised.
