NRAM loan PPI claim

Hi, back in October NRAM sent me a standard letter asking be to phone or return a reply slip if I thought I had grounds to reclaim PPI on a loan I took out in early 2007.

I returned the slip around 20 October but was sent another letter from NRAM in early November asking me to contact them as I hadn't responded to the previous letter. I again returned the slip by return.

I applied for this loan online so didn't think I qualified for most of the grounds for PPI reclaim but I don't recall being informed about alternatives to PPI - which I did have (e.g. 6 months sick pay from work). I still have the original loan and PPI agreement and can't find anything relating to that there either. The documents do cover the other grounds for PPI reclaim though.

I decided to settle the loan in late November but I wondering if it's worth persuing the PPI claim now as I've heard nothing from NRAM since the letter in November.

  • My circumstances were more or less identical to yours, also paid my Northern Rock loan off in October. The second letter they sent was sent to everyone by mistake, a computer error they told me. It takes about twelve weeks for them to respond to the questionaire. Like me you have got nothing to lose, they will either make you an offer or not make one. You dont really have to do anything else except wait and cross your fingers and toes:)
