A hole in my £70 in 3 months! Can I take them back

I bought a pair of boots from Aldo on 12th September. They were £70.

I have worn them, but not everyday and they have a hole in the front of the right boot and nearly a hole in the left one. I spoke to the cobbler today and he said he could not fix them.

Surely boots for £70 should last more than 3 months?
Can I take them back as faulty? I really like them so would be happy with a new pair.

I have got a receipt but I do have the transaction on a printed bank statement.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I presume you mean you have NOT got a receipt? Proof of purchase is all that's actually needed - if the amount on your bank statement matches the purchase price, and it specifies the retailer, then that is all the proof that is needed. :)
