I've just bought a Blackberry mobile phone for my daughter for Xmas and thought I'd put some insurance on it as she looses most things on a regular basis.

I went to protectyourbubble.com and bought what I thought was a very reasonably priced policy £29.88 for the year protected against loss or damage.

However I've just got the policy details and read through the T&Cs to discover that the excess for a claim on a smart phone is £50 with an additional £25 if it's lost. So if she looses the phone I have to pay £75 excess plus the cost of the insurance totalling £104.88. Not such a good deal considering the phone only cost £99 new with £10 airtime .

Not very moneysaving :eek: Good job I've got 14 days to cancel

Does your home contents insurance not cover it?

Yes it would be covered under my contents insurance but my excess is £75 and if I were to claim my premium would go up
