  • Yep, auto gearboxes are awfully useful. My OH has osteomyelitits in hes left ankle, he broke his ankle 31 years ago and still has problems, not least of all a totally frozen ankle, and is now developing arthritis in his foot, so an auto gearbox it will be for the next vehicle. The infection will be sorted next month, but the arthritis is here to stay :(
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

    Morning everyone.

Not sure if already posted, but Ts has the Pilgrims Cheddar half price - £2.03 for Mature and £1.99 for light. 30p off coupon on the discounts board printables thread. This offer goes to BOGOF tomorrow so may be worth keeping an eye on - though not a bad price even without glitches/DTD.

But the blocks seem to have shrunk from 400g to 350g - is this their new way to "reduce" prices?

Also saw big bags of 25 Aunt Bessies Yorkshires for half price yesterday @ I think £1.67 or thereabouts - £1.17 with coupon for the 25. Not seen these in my store before.

Edit - Not sure, but I think there are different offers on the Pilgrims cheese - ie depends on "maturity" which offer applies, so not all in the same offer. Will try and chek it out later.

    Thanks

Not in my local, there are no self service tills nor working scanners.

lol they were really nice in there too, i got some lucozade shots and some scotch brite pads and the girl on ss saw and came over and i thought oh god they are going to take them off me, i had 3 of each but she just said good bargain are'nt they? our manager said if anything goes through 1p to let the customer have it as it costs them more to get rid of old stock so they would rather a customer have it :) :T
oh and i found 2 ceramic money pot jars, when i scanned them it said contact member of staff, so i asked on the direct tills to scan it for a price and she said ohh its not on file sorry but i cant sell it to you, :(

Must depend on who's actually supervising tills, I had clothes taken off me at the tills when it scanned at 4p a few months back.
Most staff on cs desck are good with dtd, was a lazy mare on there yesterday though I was trying to find a toy for dds birthday but it was all too much trouble for her to help.

i agree...i think each store is different with regards to what they've been told is 'policy'.....some people have said they've had 1p items taken off them and told various thing like 'we cant sell them..its illegal/recalled item etc'....and this has applied to the 4p clothing/scarves/shoes etc too...... also the 'not on file' excuses..some people have had success whereby the SA has simply input 'any old price' to put the transaction through!!

In one of my locals theres an old lady SA who is lovely...I always try to go through SS with my 1p items, but if its at night..she comes along and tells me to go to her till to give her something to do..i always try to refuse (pointless as she usually takes my trolley herself!!)...and i have to tell her that i have 'a few' 1p items to buy...she just shrugs and says 'well i'll have to make sure i dont notice them then wont I?'.....i dont know her personally, but shes just one of the 'good guys' in there (believe me theres plenty of trouts iin that store too!!)....to kepp her sweet I always give her some of my 1p finds once I've paid...or anything else i get thats a bargain (gave her the 36p Pooh bear last week!)...she told me last week she retires next year....what will I do????!!! :rotfl:
