Hope you don't mind me putting my twopenneth in. I can't believe how you and your son have been treated by the school.:( I am a primary school teacher (specialising in additional learning needs) and dyslexia is a 'passion' of mine. In our school we view dyslexia as a learning difference (because it is) not a learning difficulty. Dyslexic people are intelligent people who cannot fulfill their potential unless they are taught the correct way to learn according to their specific difficulty. Ie some dyslexic people have a very poor auditory memory and some have a very poor visual memory. Some have both:(. You need to insist on a diagnostic dylslexia assessment (not just screening). If you get no joy with the school phone the local ed dept direct and speak to the school's Ed Psychologist. The male gene is also a strong one where dyslexia is concerned. (sorry to sound sexist but it is true). We find that once the child knows the problem they are experiencing their self esteem begins to rise and so does their academic progress as they now know that they aren't just 'thick' (not my words-I hear that a lot as we provide a type of therapy for the children who have been diagnosed). HTH:)

What a lovely post, thanks. Some of us have (now and years ago) have "children where we would have loved to have a well adjusted teacher like yourself.

Yeah but is there actually any difference other than the name?

There are slight differences in the specs, but nothing major. There are loads of brands that make them, I was just deciding between those 2 because they were the cheapest ones that were not tiny.
The crockpot one is in the half price sale, started at £34, and the Tesco own is always £12.
Argos have one for £5 but you can fit much in it, and I have a lot of whoopsied casserole steak!
  • hi guys does anyone know if i made it onto the happy clip strip list from my photo link earlier and where can i access the list.

I agree, have noticed Miss Laid always does this as she did when I asked a Q earlier today. Think we all need to be aware sometimes when we say something on here it can come across totally different to the reader than the op intended, lets not all fall out, its been lovely on here for so long now :D

it wasnt me that was asking for the bloody chicken in the first place!!!!!!!

Then why pick holes in Miss Laids helpful post??

instead of digging a bigger hole an apology would have perhaps been better!

    Free Wine?

This looks worth a try, except my local T's is too far away, and getting DTD arranged at this time of night would be a nightmare.
