You cannot get a freedom pass but if you've got a national concessionary bus pass you'll be able to use it to travel for free on london buses.
If you decide to buy an oystercard you can register your disabled railcard onto it to get 34% off tube/DLR/london overground fares. If you do this a person travelling with you can travel on a child's travelcard.
You can also buy discounted tickets without an oystercard providing you have your railcard with you.

I don't know about discounts for things other than transport so cannot help there.0 -

I have a Bus Pass for my local buses ie Swansea, Wales (is this what you mean)? Also my carer has a over 60's one so would that be same ? Yes I will get a Oyster card in new year. Do they expire if not used in 6 months??? I'm travelling in Zone 1 only.0 -
we went last year and the london eye and the london aquarium both allow a carer to go free if you buy a ticket , i produced my blue parking badge as proof of disability0

That's what I meant but I don't know if the free bus pass for Wales would be valid in London. You need to contact your local council or Transport for London and ask.JediMaster wrote: »I have a Bus Pass for my local buses ie Swansea, Wales (is this what you mean)? Oystercards don't expire - I didn't use mine for over 12 months, but it's a good idea to register them online when you can get chance so that if you lose it you don't lose the money on it.0 -
Access london are good for info on theatre that have good wheelchair access and disabled facilities
w w w .officiallondontheatre.co.uk/access/
I'm not sure if these are still going but it may be worth a try if you need to hire a chair

yourable have a forum section for travel and people on there may have personal experiences that they can give on good or bad places while your there
I use travelodges and book in advance to get the cheap prices
I wouldNOT recommend using the farringdon as they didn't have any disabled facilities but hopefully they amended the site from the problems i had a few years a go there. now i use Liverpool Street and they have always helped with wheelchairs and have disabled rooms that I can use.
There was a hotel someone recommended to me that has got top reviews for disabled facilities but I can't remember the name of it at the mo, but will let you know if I remember it.
It's worth contacting the places you are interested in visiting before you go to find out who does what deals, but I find a fair number of places let the carer go free, plus most websites have good info - or the phone number to get someone to tell you their policies and facilities.
Enjoy your visit

It's not specifically for disabled but Days out do 2 for 1 on various attractions if you travel there by rail, you just need to keep hold of your tain ticket to produce with a voucher you print off. I have used these in the past and saved loads - was ever so easy to do, it's got a range of attractions although you would need to check accessability etc. There are also restaurants and things that do it too.

The other thing I would check out for eating out is www.toptable.com who have restaurant reviews, menus etc and also various ones offer various discounts or free glass of wine/cocktail whatever.
Have a lovely time.0 -
You and a carer can go free on the Tower of London walkway (bit on top above the bridge), a bit of London people overlook and it has great views.
I went in the summer with a friend, I've walked back and forth over that bridge all my life and had never been 'up top', really enjoyed it.
You do have to go to the website and pre-book the free tickets. It also has disabled access & a lift.

Saw that on UK Apprentice years ago... 007 Bond Theme party. Might look into that if staying over that end of London...
