Beware of this company they totally messed up a xmas present for someone I was buying for.

I ordered the item last Friday, got an order confirmation with a note on there to say I would get another email when the item was despatched.

Fast forward to Wednesday and still nothing.
So I rang up and got through to someone who wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible without letting me speak.

I was told that the order was on their system and that it was still to be processed. After fighting to get a word in edge ways before she put the phone down on me I requested that the order was cancelled, as it was suppose to be a xmas present and it was now too late!

For the standard £4.95 delivery charge they impose on all items I'd expect quick delivery for just a tshirt, or at least to be processed instead of being left for 5 days in limbo.

Funnily enough I got onto their Facebook wall the other day to ask about where the item was before I rang up on Wednesday, and now the wall has been disabled for me, but I did see aload of other complaints about orders still not being honoured or refunds taking more than a month! oh dear. Never again

  • and in their T&Cs it says payment is taken when the items are despatched. Well that's not the case because they've already taken payment!
  • Shauninleeds, this might be relevant if it's the same company

Charity spin-off fashion retailer hits the rocks

FASHION Rocks Retail, a designer clothing business launched by Edinburgh-based David Douglas and Angus Morrison as a spin off from their charity fashion events, has fallen into administration, it emerged yesterday.
The firm’s two stores – in the Westfield shopping centre near the Olympic village in Stratford and at Sheffield’s Meadowhall centre – will continue to trade while administrators at Begbies Traynor seek a buyer.
Douglas and Morrison, who also founded the USC clothing chain, launched Fashion Rocks as a series of celebrity fashion events to raise money for charity, but later added a clothing website and the two shops.
The stores stock brands including Armani, Hugo Boss and Juicy Couture.
Paul Dounis, David Acland and Lila Thomas from Begbies Traynor were appointed as joint administrators on Monday, the firm yesterday revealed. They said they plan to keep on all 64 staff while a buyer is sought.
Dounis said: “The stores only opened in the past year, but unfortunately they have suffered from the continuation of the weak economy and the fall in consumer spending, which has hit the retail sector hard and particularly sales of luxury items. The company made a major investment when it took on the premises and purchased a large amount of designer stock, but sales failed to materialise.
“The Sheffield and London stores will continue to operate as normal in the run-up to Christmas and during the busy January sales period while the company is marketed and a buyer is sought.”
Documents filed at Companies House showed Fashion Rocks Group, the retailer’s parent company, is owned by Pentland Group – which also owns the Hunter wellington boot brand – and FRG2, whose shareholders are listed as Douglas and Morrison, along with Graham Barnet, Paul Scott, Marcus Watson and David Wardlaw. The administrators said Morrison was the retailers’ main director.
  • thanks so much for that :)

Their phone number now doesn't work and they arent replying to my emails.

Thankfully I did pay by credit card so I'm protected, but Natwest have said to allow until the new year to see whether Fashion Rocks contact me, if not my bank will do the chargeback for me. Annoying that the bank won't just do it but I'll get my money back eventually I suppose
  • Hi shauninleeds
that's very lucky that you paid by credit card, I paid by visa debit. They own me £212, now I don't know what to do! They said they issued the refund on 1st Dec, but that's such a lie! I'm so annoyed, should've done by credit card! ps, their customer service is rubbish! Im going though a visa chargeback, hope that'll work! cheeky!!
