thanks beanie ... he did well, was in a bit of pain and is still tender but he is ok ... we will know in the next 4 weeks or so if the procedure has helped0

Today mr el is undergoing a wee op aimed at relieving some of the pain in his back, nothing serious but he is getting a general so i will be on hand to keep him safe for the rest of the day
Hospital canteen food ... It's not the worst i've ever had but it aint exactly inspiring for ill patients either lol
I particularly like it when they put it on a table out of the reach of the patient and collect it untouched at the end of mealtime. Always reminds me of 'Catch 22' when they switch the tubes feeding the guy and draining him over.
Hope things get better for Mr Elantan soon. xDebt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

Hope Mr Els op has worked and he starts to feel better soon x0

thanks everyone,
he has been in a bit of pain the last few days but i think it will take a few weeks to know if it has been successful or not
i'm thinking about putting up an s.o.a ... i dont think there is really anything else we can trim from our s.o.a but it would be good to have a referance point to refer back to when times get tough ( which i expect them to just shortly)
mmmm am undecided though as i dont really like doing s.o.a's0 -
Well if it helps, I don't think you are alone in expecting it to get tough. I think the next six months will be tough followed by a few months of it being even tougher infact it won't get anywhere near okay until about July next year!!!Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

not been on for so long sorry
well since i last posted things have got in more of a sticky wicket ( yikes all self inflicted as well)
i did think of starting another diary and i think i will soon but will carry on with this one in the mean time
hubby's op helped him for a few days/week max and then it got as bad as ever so he wont be going for that again, he has also noticed a huge difference in his dupytens contracture (sp) so i am now trying to help him with that
he is still in the different job only now he has been told it is more than likely going to be a permanent change and that he will need to make his own way into /out of work, so we will need to get another car ..... this really was the last thing we needed to deal with as we just got the new car and took out a loan to pay for it, we got a biggish car ( astra) as we have only needed one car in the family ever, now however we will need two so we realistically would have two small cars, we bought the new car on the friday and in the monday hubby went into work and was told he was being transferred to his new role ... talk about bad timing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
so basically we are now needing to save money to be able to buy a second car, which aint going according to plan
on top of that is the fact that we have had to spend on the visa which isnt great either and has started to cost us in interest payments.
so it seems like one step forward two back at the moment
but we still fully intend on getting to a better place within the 100 months, have to admit though i do wonder if i am kidding myself on sometimes
i am still looking for a new job and still not getting anywhere with that ... i think it is something to do with nerves so i have decided to start going to a speakers club and see if that helps
hope everyone is good0 -
Ok, after last nights revelations i have more,
i am thinking of doing the unthinkable, i am thinking of remortgaging:eek::eek::eek:
i sat down and worked out how much we owe, interest rates, how much we are currently paying per month etc and i think we could pay less interest this way
we are currently paying 6.3% on a car loan £232 and pennies a month
17.9% on one visa as much as we can a month but only managing to bring the total down by £100
0% on two visa's ( this is due to end around about April) £225 a month
totalling £657 a month
now
i can get a remortgage deal for 3.29% for 5 years to cover all the debt that we owe ( car and visa bills) i have 6.5 years left on mortgage and would have the amount we need to borrow coincide with this, it would cost us £368 a month which is cheaper than what we are currently paying
if we chose to go down this path we would have to close all credit card accounts and ensure we pay off the motor
anyone got any thoughts?0 -
I think one of the main reasons folk advise against remortgaging is as it seems less but it's over twenty years or so, your circumstances are quite different as it would be paid off in 6.5 years so doesn't seem so bad to me. Could you keep the 0% debt out though and just pay that off - it's not go long to go anyway?
What about funding the second car? Have you a plan?

hey skinty thanks for replying
just pulled all the paper work out for the visa's ... as i was kinda guessing last night ( when i first started to think about this)
one of the visa interest free periods ( the one we owe £5k on) runs out in April ( oooopps thought it was May just rechecked) ... i dont think we could pay that off by that time (currently only managing £150 a month to this one) ... on the other visa the time limits are jun 2013 and august 2013 i think to be honest that yes i could manage the August one as it would give me 9 months to find £1,250 so that would be manageble and could in fact make it a bit of a challenge for me so that could be worth thinking about
currently what we are paying to the interest visa's is not going to clear them for when the interest free period ends, we would have to transfer again to another 0% rate this way we would get it all done and dusted in the one
we have no plans as to yet for a second car purchase tbh and we really need to think about that as a matter of urgency
i think doing this could help free up money so that we could save some towards a car purchase but i would need to deff put a plan into action for that
anyone got any ideas on that one? should i maybe borrow more than i need so that i have a slush fund for a car or emergencies? or should i transfer it all and then have a challenge to save for a car?0
