DIXONS - useless not delivered

Options
Hi

I am fuming, ordered a Xbox 360 package on Monday and Paid for delivery Wed 21st (£3.99).

Checked the tracking and on 21/12 it was out on delivery. All day yesterday wasted as it was never delivered, I waited in all day. I tried calling Yodel who Dixons use and spent over 1 hour on the phone last night dialling back several times as it wasnt answered.

This AM called Dixons, again calling a 0844 number took 20 mins and being cut of several times to get through to have someone answer the phone, no apology said he would refund £3.99 but couldnt guarantee when it would be delivered. Told me I could pick up from store 14miles away (but dont drive).

They are saying I complain to Yodel not them, surely my contract is with Dixons not Yodel as that is who I paid the money to?

I am now out of pocket god knows how much for all these calls and they cant say when the item will be delivered. THey have taken payment and it wont get refunded now until after the new year due to bank holidays - I cant afford to go and buy anoterh one from the shops as it would go on my credit card.

Who is my contract with Dixons or Yodel? Do I complain to Trading Standards or who as Dixons are useless!

Thanks (from a fuming mum who is going tohave a upset son on xmas day)

  • Your contact is with Dixons, but if you have the tracking number call Yodel on 0845 408 4510.

Dixons poor service aside, it's not completely their fault, but any company using Yodel for guaranteed delivery dates at this time of year is doing a disservice to their customers.

  • Well the courier turned up this AM and what an attitude, he pulled up on my grass in front of my house, I askedhim not to park there and park on the road he turned around and said I can park here and I said no, he said im getting your parcel & I dont care that im late, I said that isnt a very good attitude and he said I dont care im going and just drove off!

Have cancelled with Dixons but wont get money back now until after new year they told me. And htey are saying the delivery element of the contract is with Yodel & Not them...........tried to tell them this is wrong but hey learnt my lesson wont be using them ever again - poor customer service, poor delivery, returns element is very poor blah blah blah.............

Anyway gotta go into town now & get a new xbox package for my son. Good job for the credit card certainly wasnt worth the saving of a few pounds I got through going through Dixons.

Right, so for the sake of your principles about 2 minutes parking on a bit of grass you sent away the courier (you'd been waiting 2 days for) with your kids Xmas pressie - way to go.

    Nose/face/spite/idiot?

Don't you think the driver might be just a little bit pressed at the moment, what with Yodel being so crap and him getting !!!!!! from every customer like you?
  • I dont think you should be calling anyone an idiot you dont know me & thankfully I dont know you!!! This forum is to vent and that is what I was doing.....correct me if i've posted in the wrong forum?
When I spoke to Yodel they actually said he shouldnt be driving on peoples property and Im within my rights to tell him not to park on there. Why should I have my grass marked by his car wheels because he drove on it? Also there are insurance implications they said so if he had damaged my property/car etc, Yodel said he should park on the road unless dangerous to do so, and it was a quiet cul-de-sac so in no way dangerous.
he had an attitude from when he pulled up saying he didnt care that he was a day late, which I believe is because Dixons had called Yodel customer services to see why he didnt deliver yesterday !

It was the whole experience with Dixons & Yodel but in fairness Yodel have been the best customer service between the two when I spoke to them.

Yes I will cut my nose off to spite myself out of principles as I earn my money and I choose who I wish to spend it with and because of the way Dixons have been and the attitude of the driver - its not my fault Yodel are crap, I pay for a service then I should get it, a simple call wouldnt have gone a miss but didnt even get that.

And yes if he's getting crap from every customer good on um, with an attitude like that he isnt giving Dixon/Yodel a good reputation. I take crap everyday in my job as I also work with customers and im not rude to my cusotmers so why should others be allowed to be - I would be sacked if I acted the way he did.

Got another xbox now and it is as good a deal and I feel better for buying it from another retailer and not Dixons.

Trading standards take a very clear view that it is up to dixons to ensure the goods reach you. Other, better quality companies like Amazon and Boots take ownership when yodel !!!!!! them around. So I suggest you lodge a complaint about dixons with trading standards.

(I rang up TS to complain about yodel, they were very clear that really it was the sender's responsibility to ensure I received my goods, and they could only record it against the sender).

Anyway, cast your vote for worst delivery company ...
