  • Have a distinctive sticker in your front/rear windows that uniquely identifies your car. So your car will not be the one seen in the video footage of fuel theft, parking tickets, etc depite the stolen number plates suggesting it was.

The real victims will be petrol forecourts and other places where the thief's will be less likely to be identified. It will still cause some aggravation for the owner of the plates as they have to explain it wasnt them and also get new plates

Please not a bright yellow Arnold Clark one!

It bugs me when people buy a lovely shiny car and a) leave on the massive yellow advertising sticker of the garage, and b) leave the cellophane on their new numberplate so that it stays a weird greeny rainbow colour.

Sometimes I think people just look at a car in the showroom and then never give the exterior a second glance once they own it.

I can't understand why petrol stations here don't adopt the US system where (mostly) you have to pay before you can pump fuel. It's a no-brainer.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    .

Are you sure that's not the stick on anti-speed camera film?
WHICH has been proven to to do sweet f**k all but people still buy it because they listen to gossip over common sense!!! Kinda like buying a 4x4 to keep your kids safe :rotfl:

In the radio broadcast a guy at the end said it will be in next 5 years or so, some supermarkets have some pumps that do this already

How easy would it make putting fuel in as well, you give the cashier £50, the pump stops automatically at £50, not £50.01
I find it hard to have sympathy with these greedy companies, if they want to stop fuel theft they should invest in technology, as said the usa has had this for 20 years, instead of that the greed merchants will stoop to docking wages of shop assistants.

I prefer to pay at pump as its quicker for me. I feel sorry for small outfits a theft could very much wipe them out of profits for many days more of if its a big car on empty/truck
