Annoying Christmas purchasing experiences

Options
What a load of hassle this Christmas has appeared to be in buying products online!

First off - ordered a PS3 plus 7 game bundle from HMV. They shipped one of the games on its own, then I receive 4 separate emails telling me that 4 of the games were out of stock, so I telephoned them and cancelled the rest of the order. Why advertise items online as being in stock, when they clearly aren't. I would have complained, but for the extremely nice person on the phone at Customer Services.

My wife ordered me a dressing gown from Play.com earlier this month, when in stock. As of today it hasn't been despatched, therefore we're assuming it's out of stock. Thanks for NOT telling us Play, meaning rushing around for a replacement on the High Street.

Amazon order (through Royal Mail) was due for delivery by 17th - though maybe I'm just being impatient and the delay is due to the increase in Christmas post generally. This is a Christmas gift - naturally I'm concerned it won't arrive on time.

TheHut decide to send a product in packaging different to that displayed online - wouldn't normally mind other than the fact that the product is season 13 of a 14 season tv series, and I have all other 13 seasons in matching packaging. Had they displayed the correct product picture, I would have known to shop elsewhere for the right packaging (perhaps I'm being too fussy). Too late to send it back before Christmas.

Debenhams order arrives with damaged (broken) packaging, it's another Christmas gift and I've had to take it out of the packaging to wrap.

Marks and Spencer suit arrives with an electronic tag still on the trousers, which I had to take to the store to have removed.

And to top it all off, the PS3 bundle bought instore to replace the online bundle has a bluray missing from inside the box (not once, but twice over as my brother got the same bundle).

Dear oh dear. And this rant comes from someone who NEVER complains about incompetence.

Maybe it's just time I stopped buying stuff.
