can't believe people would spend this sort of money on there kids what on earth are kids learning about the value of money? oh i remember we arent!
its like i had a friend spend £300 or £400 on a handheld console for his 4 year old boy i mean what a complete waste of money. no wonder we are getting more in debt, seems parents feel they have to buy whatever there kids want. I remember when i was a kid i got push bike for christmas and birthday joint present and that was your lot and you where happy with that and grateful.
shame i wonder what sort of next generation will come thru, i was brought up with one saying 'i want don't get' but hey maybe i was just hard done by but i don't feel so. just hope everyones plastic and re-mortages can keep them going :D
but hey ho each to there own.

basil now gets off soap box.

I have to agree. We have 2 - 6 years old boys and every christmas we go mad on gifts for them.

the problem is that nowadays - technology is almost disposable. If your TV breaks you just go buy a new one - for instance.

This year we've said that we're going to get them "old school" toys. Telescope - scooter and little bits for stockings. Stuff we can enjoy as a family and not gadgets that have them locked in their rooms for hours on end.

For us, spending less at xmas is not because we can't afford to blow £1000 on expensive techno bits - but because the whole concept of being thankful for gifts seems to be alien to our little ones. They've been surrounded by "nice" items from birth and new expensive gifts are overly expected whilst also being under appreciated.

Having spoken to friends, they also have similar feelings.

£50 on a scooter/fillers and a basic telescope seems money very well spent and will hopefully give us a lovely day to remember - without the agro of new computers/projctors/consoles (etc etc)

removed post as i slipped up there my bad i suggest you now delete links from your quote lol.
as to spending loads on kids i think and this only my honest view like it or not! i think you help teach them nothing in life to the value of money but i suppose you work to the old view work hard play hard,.

heres food for thought though lets say unfortunately you lost your job in the near future for whatever reason and your kids next year say mummy mummy i want what all the other kids are getting this christmas it costs about £500 to which you would reply sorry mummy can't afford it i wonder how your kids except that?

as to me buying presents i have bought for all my family including 2 nephews and stuff they have all wanted and guess what it didn't cost huge amounts either but you have the right to spend whatever you feel like at the end of the day its your money i take my hat off to you, but you did seem to mis the general point i was making that was applied to buying presents to all children basically alot of adults are spending huge amounts therefore not helping them in later life.

i do have one question for you what would you consider a ceiling amount you would spend on a christmas present £500 or £1000 or £1500 or whatever there hearts desire its only money?

anyway i leave it there hope you have a merry christmas. thanks for the personal attacks shows what a nice human being you truly are!

nope. Dr Dre are very selective about who sells their products and also how much they go for. Check the authentic site for more info but they work in a similar way to Ugg Australia when it comes to selling them.
