If you have a lot of debt on your cards you are a risky customer. Each fresh card will increase the potential credit available to fill up. Regardless of your repayment history the banks just will not take you on.
I suggest you do not apply for another 6 months and in the interim pay off as much of outstanding balance as possible, whilst reducing the limits.0 -

Thanks very much for that Tom.. some of my cards arent that bad really, just a fair few of them and some of them are almost at their max. So like you say if I get those sorted out and reduce the limits. I hadnt thought of THAT either.. That should help. Thanku

I think what I might do is take the payment protection off everything.. thats a HUGE chunk of my debt/repayments im sure.. That will make it look more manageable.. I hope.Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Basically you have paid the credit agency £5.00 to be flattered.0

Eupho, consolidation is rarely the best way to go about things. You are restricted to what you can pay each month and could face penalties for paying it off early.
I don't know whether you have seen this calculator but give it a go. It could show you that a loan could be more expensive in the long run.
