This thread has made me smile!
DD(10) is very emotional lately and has developed DD1's knack of talking 10 to the dozen and getting louder and louder to drown out any response from me! The temptation to throw cold water on them at that point is immense and DD1 still does it one week in four so I can see its going to be great with two of them at it!
DS was ok (for a teen) until he reached 16 and then aliens took him away and replaced him with a wild animal! That's how my parents describe it anyway! He changed overnight - literally! He was horrendous!
DD1 has just been stroppy more than anything. After the high pitched rants, she would stomp off and flick her finger(s) at us from 2/3 of the way up the stairs rather than get in our faces in the way DS did. We laugh about it now. Most of the time I ignored it but there was a few times I was up the stairs in about 3 strides as I was furious with her and she'd run for her room with a look of panic on her face (because mum can't normally run that fast!) :rotfl:
DD2 is more like her brother so I'm expecting fireworks again! I do feel for her though. I think we have to keep in mind that they are struggling too, hard though that is sometimes!0 -

I spent this morning searching for the Paco Rabane Million body spray for my DS (long story but his step brother that lives with DS's dad has been bought some) but all I could find was the after shave stuff. I said to DH 'I'm !!!!!!ed if I'm spending £45 on aftershave for a boy that doesn't even shave'. Without missing a beat DH replied 'A boy that doesn't even wash' :rotfl:
Last night DH fell down the stairs, DS came out of his room, looked down the stairs to see what had happened then went back in again without coming down or saying a word. I think it was once he'd assured himself it wasn't me, DH thinks he thought it was the pizza delivery man :rotfl:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Oh my - thanks to OP - my DD is 10 and I am sure she must be getting some hormonal changes as she can stomp around and get so angry over nothing. Then there are the looks, the narrowing of the eyes and the back chat, I just try and take deep breaths and count to 1000. It is great to know that there are other people going through similar behaviours.0

Thank you so much for this thread, I was going to post my own yesterday as I have spent half of the last week in tears over my 12 yr old (nearly 13) daughter, I was beginning to question my parenting skills but I am sure it's all just normal behaviour, she is moody, answers back and generally hates me I think, I remember being very much the same at her age and I never really did get on with my own mum, I so wanted it to be different for me and my daughter but can see us heading down the same path, I feel I'm losing her and she'll never come back to me, it's not easyAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

she doesn't hate you, she just think she does. It upsets me that I put my mum through this and made her feel the way you do now. Even now though we don't get on because she's an ego maniac and self centred cow, but she wasn't always like that, certainly not when I was growing up. It will get better though, I promise xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
