Brilliant idea! I've always wanted a set of those posh rings but the price puts me off. :TMortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0

Tru, how long would you cook a mini Xmas cake in a little tin for ? And do you use the tiny tuna tins, or the bigger ones ? I have wanted to do this for years but never knew how long to cook them for and I'm a REALLY bad cake maker - always burn or undercook - any advice very welcome !0

Seems to be a lot of talk about cats on the forum today.:o
I feed my cats/dog tuna most of the time with dry food, I get mine from either Asda 27-29p or Netto similar price. The cats and dog also lke pilchards and sardines.:D0 -
Just be careful how you open the tins, I recently cut my hand quite badly when washing out a can with the ring pull opening. I shall be opening my cans with my trusty tin opener, it's the sort that doesn't leave razor sharp edges.0

Dont want to be a party pooper but too much tuna is not good for cats and its fine for an occasional treat. Just search under google for tuna and cats and see - various articles. I think fatty liver disease and mercury are the two main things.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

I buy those big 99p cans of tuna from Sainburys and I use them as mini cake tins too! They make really cute little cakes.Cake & pastry making extraordinare happily engaged to Gas Man in London :j

my son's nursery got them all to make xmas cakes at the end of term. we had to bring in small baked bean/spaghetti sized tins, and they lined them with greaseproof paper. the little bit i was allowed to try tasted really nice, (you have reminded me i meant to ask them for their, presumably really easy, recipe) but he scoffed the rest in one bite0

Small Batch Baking by Debby Maugans Nakos has some really good ideas for making small cakes and bakes.

I use the recipe from The Dairy Cookbook (BTW I need a new copy cos mine is falling apart, anyone know if you can still get them?), the temp says 150 degrees C but I have a fan oven so I turn it down to 130 degrees. I don't know how long they take, when they're baking I'm usually faffing about in the kitchen so I just keep checking them
