Car Hire - Newbie

Hi
I'm a bit of a newbie at hiring a car. I'm looking to hire one to go to York for my son's birthday. The price I've been quoted from Avis is 86 for 3 nights. That's collection from Lancaster and return to Lancaster. They say it includes a full tank of petrol but I have to return it with a full tank of petrol. The car is a Peugeot 207 (I am assuming latest model) .... I only plan to use the car to get there and back ... with a full tank, that is possible, or will I have to top up (sorry I'm not too good at the miles per gallon thingy)
Any help gratefully appreciated!

They are supplied with a full tank of fuel and you should return it with a full tank otherwise they charge you over the odds for refilling it. Lancaster to York and back will make the needle move so you will need to fill it before returning it. Most hire places are very close to a garage for this reason.
Dont pay for the fuel in advance either as they bill you for a whole tank knowing full well that people wont use it and dont refund the unused fuel.
When you pick the car up, go over everything and make sure that every single dent and mark inside and out is on the handover paperwork otherwise you might be charged for it when you return the car.0 -
Lancaster to York isn't that far. Maybe 80-90 miles. Cut across to the A65 then down to Skipton and onto the A59. It shouldn't even use half a tank for the round trip.0
