New connection Leic
Hi all,
Is anyone able to run a list off of companies (in leic/east mids) who can connect your new electricity supply.
Western power (used to be Eon) have to do the connection in my area. The chap rang me today and explained that while this is the case, the connection is 1% of the works, the remaining 99% being the excavation and laying of cables. I can think of morrison utilities.
I only ask because the quote is coming in around 2500! I queried the cost and if anyone else could do the works. His response being that they are not allowed to make a profit on these works (section 16 I recall him mentioning). I interpret that as it not meaning it cannot be done cheaper. The council don't make a profit yet it doesn't mean the blokes who work for them are flat out. FYI there's a 20m trench to be dug, all in the footpath, no road connection. Then on my side of the boundary is an 8m long section, which I will dig, on a machine, in one day. Obviously don't have the same remedial works, but still, 2500!
So any companies which come to mind let me know and I can call them
Cheers

It is normaly an expensive one, they have to get permission to dig in the highway and it will require a road connection . £2500 sounds about right. Are they doing a SD2 or SD3?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

No road connection necessary as they can come from a point 20m away in the footpath. I think a 6m ish road connection would have been cheaper. Will have to query that. Have just had quote, it's 2200 ish with 570 being non contestable.
Single LV service demand connection if that helps.0
