Reslate bungalow roof quote

Just want an idea if the cost to replace 104m2 of roofing on a bungalow at £5,240 seems reasonable?

Property is North East Scotland and I have been quoted for the following:-

Erect scaffolding, remove existing zinc ridge, remove all existing slates, inspect sarking, replace zinc valleys, cover roof in breathable membrane, reslate roof (200 new slates reqd) and replace zinc ridge with stone ridge (54 reqd)

The qoute is based on £980 for materials then 104 x £40 per sq metre for labour

6k is the average price to retile a roof. 3 bed semi detached house.
thats using concrete tiles at approx half the price of slate.
ie say 1200 quid v 2800 quid.

so your price seems pretty fair. ish.

Weve just built an oak post and beam garage with a welsh blue slate roof (the artificial ones which are riven) Roof area was just over 100m2. Slates were around 86p each (600 x 300) plus the ridges at a couple of quid. Took two people 3 days to do the slating. This does not include the felting and battening which was extra. Weather at the moment is poor though so if it was a summer job youd get it done it 2 good days.
