i went in earlier and got my turkey 4.6kg £8 i thought it was just the normal price :-/
I hunted out 3 co-ops, 2 didn't have any frozen turkeys left, and the 3rd had few at the £8 mark.
I called back tonight (last night now) and some had reduced stickers on them - I got a 4.6kg one for £4.50...well chuffed.
I also used one of the £2 vouchers,....third today during all my visits, so many many thanks to OP and those posting about the voucher.
Earlier I bought a HUGE piece of Pork - which the co-op have on offer at half price re weight, but this piece then had a reduced sticker on for half that price....iyswim !!
So that is Christmas and Boxing Day sorted.
Among other great Coop bargains today were Free range eggs for half price ( and at 2nd store for 80% off). I have the Mary Berry Cake kits, so need lots of eggs anyway.
Also lots of Quiches and ham......excess now safely in freezer
Got everything I need now, but might have time tomorrow to see if there are any Mega, MEGA bargains to be had.0 -
I got a medium 5.6kg co-op turkey, I am not sure when to get it out to defrost, according to the label to defrost in a cool room 7 hours per kg = 39 hours (it was 89 hours  in the fridge but try as I might can't get it in).
However according to this online defrosting/cooking calculator from Bernard Matthews is should only take 19-26 hours.

I've always had a fresh turkey before, can anyone with defrosting experience advise me?
Whenever we get a cheap Turkey at closing times on Christmas eve we stick it in tepid water in the bath over night. Always defrosted by morning. Jsut makes sure you cook it well. Don't stuff it. Let the heat go through it. :AI am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

It didn't, I had to embarrasingly say that I didn't want it after it had gone through
There's no need to feel embarrased. If i'm ever in doubt about the price of something, I just put it at the front of my shopping and ask the cashier to check the price? I just say that a friend bought one cheap in another store and that I thought it might be on offer here too?
Cashiers are used to price checking stuff so I wouldn't worry about asking to have it taken off your bill.
