Hi all,
Just thought I'd mentioned that those on means-tested benefits might be able to get an extra £120 to help with fuel.
If you are receiving the Guaranteed Pension Credit Only (not as well as savings credit) then it's automatic entitlement. Providing that your name is on the bill and your energy supplier is part of the scheme (most big ones are). see here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Pensionsandretirementplanning/Benefits/BenefitsInRetirement/DG_185940
However, do not fret if you are not receiving Pension credit you might be able to claim under one of the broader schemes see here http://www.decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/funding/whds/whd_broader/whd_broader.aspx
Thought it might help some of the less well-off this XMas.
