Tread carefully with zavvi ebay outlet...

Just a quick heads up, something odd may be going on with Zavvi's ebay outlet.

Bought an Xbox 360 for christmas a few days back and they sent me a (more expensive) PS3... tried to contact them through ebay to sort out the mistake with no response, obtained their details through the ebay member process and the phone number to me through to zavvi then... dum dum dum CDiscount

"we are currently closed, our opening hours are 8am to 6 pm"
- I called at 2 pm and 3 pm. the message box was full and couldn't accept further messages.

also, cdiscount uk website is unavailable due to errors etc.

given Cdiscount's past history, it may be wise to take precautions before purchasing from the zavvi ebay outlet.

OR i could be reading to much into this and their phone, webpage and email have all coincidentally crashed at the same time.

either way, i have a ps3 worth about £100 more than the xbox i bought so it's not a huge issue for me, i just hope some poor kid hasn't ended up with my Xbox by mistake... :(

  • I had a similar experience with Zavvi (not their eBay shop though). I bought a xbox 360 Driver collector's edition and guess what, a PS3 version of the same thing turned up. They seem to get mixed up with PS3 and xbox 360?
  • Just phone the number on the Zavvi website, it's 0844 264 0702. Due to it's value I'd tell them to arrange a courier to collect the PS3.

I'm not happy with Zavvi! I ordered a dvd about 10 days ago and it's still not come, I better get it in time for Christmas!
  • Assuming they've posted it, how is that Zavvi's fault?

Did try that number, stayed on hold for 5 minutes before hanging up. Expensive number to be kept waiting on when your trying to save them money by returning a more expensive item. f they don't get in contact soon i will just sell on the ps3 and buy my xbox from the high street, can probably get a few games too with the extra cash from the sale, like I say, it's worth a lot more than I paid...

they do say up to 10 working days delivery so you should be ok... only downside with online shopping is the delivery wait, especially around christmas!
  • The saynoto0870 alternative number for 0844 264 0702 is 01606 336169
  • I to have had problems with them. Placed an order on 31st Dec. via a link on their email newsletter, which clearly stated £7.99 but was taken direct to their eBay outlet where after I had placed the order via PayPal turned out to be £9.99!! I've tried to contact them 4 times in the past week but I suspect they are deaf! And to cap it all I have not receiced the item yet
  • Got an email reply only taken a week!! But they totally ignored my message about the cost error and gave what I think is a standard message about waiting -
'Thank you for your message regarding the delivery of your order.'
