Radweld - Opinions

The OH's car seem to be losing coolant, all be it very slowly, and I suspect it is coming out of the heater matrix. The car is on its last legs and we plan to change it in a few months. Also heater matrix is going to be a major job so I'm not even going to contemplate changing it.
I was thinking it may be worth adding a bit of Radweld or similar to temporally address the situation but I have heard these treatments can cause more problems that they cure.
Does anyone have any experience of these products? Should I give it a go or just keep topping the coolant up?

You'll be fine using radweld, an older car on its last legs anyway, seems suprising to contemplate a more expensive option.
To be honest I would be tempted to try breaking an egg into it first, allegedly it works just as well0 -
Chuck it in.0

Slow coolant loss can also be the coolant filler cap loosing a seal.
Cheap to replace.0 -
Nowt wrong with Radweld. You may see a slight increase in running temp of 1 or 2 degrees.
I've heard of the egg trick but never been brave enough to try it!0 -
I went out and got some K-seal - I'll give it a go later.0

I would strongly recommend this

I've experience of using it now on three cars. Works extremely well.
Heres a repair demonstration...

Did you get the k seal you can use with anitfreeze, or do you need to flush the system first?0
