Don't change your fuel, change your driving style.

1.3 automatic - you'll not see any difference with a premium fuel.

Why not test it out over, say, 500 miles and let us know?

It definitely will not give you better mpg. Totally not worth the money.

have a full and proper engine service done
make sure brakes are lovely and free
junk the junk in the boot
    ensure optimum tyre pressures
    dont give free lifts
    walk for your lottery ticket
    dont buy the super unleaded

Won't make a difference, waste of money.

This is the carp spouted by people who don't understand what fuel octane ratings really mean. It's little more than gossip and rumour....

  • I would give it a go as we used to run a Volvo T5 and when i started using Super unleaded (V Power)the wife even mentioned to me that the car was more responsive and mpg did improve buy nearly 5 mpg.
Also the mother in law runs a 1.3 punto and said the car was running sluggishly,i advised her to try 2 full tanks of S U to clean the engine out and also give it a bit of a blast, now she uses one tank of Super to 3 tanks of normal and the car has been running better since, again more responsive and better mpg.

I guess running a Volvo T5 is why we are now on here lol.:D

Even if you try it and it doesnt work for you it will have only cost you a few quid.
  • you car wont benefit nor will your pocket.

your car is not of performance quality to benefit from premium fuel.

a subaru/volvo turbo petrol/vectra corsa astra VXR/mitsubishi evo's RS focus will benefit for performance gains but normal vehicles proven to reduce power reduce power and youll see no MPG gains as the engine is not running to spec.

I have tried it, and you DON'T get back more than the difference in the cost of the fuel.

And according to a Ford engineer who spends significant time testing all his engines on a bench with all types of fuel, any difference in fuel returns is wiped out by the myriad of other factors affecting the efficiency of a vehicle.

Continue hunting out your best value local fuel.
