Hi,
I have been with talktalk since they started their "free" broadband offer.
I have never had any problems, so I have never needed to contact them.
My only problem with them is they call from India at about 18:00 to try and sell me package upgrades.
The scheme I have is:
Broadband (unlimited): £0
Talktalk Plus (unlimited UK calls): £14.50
Line rental: £13.80
International Boost: £3
So this comes to £31.30 per month, with any mobile or 0845 calls on too.
Last night they rang asking me to pay for free mobile calls too.
This seems quite a lot to me.
Looking at the uswitch sites, it seems like there are some very cheap deals, but do they offer the same package?
What I need is:
Broadband, preferably unlimited, or high limit.
Phone, I don't make a lot of calls. "Free" UK calls would be nice to have.
And that's it!
Thanks in advance.

Do people really believe things like this?they rang asking me to pay for free mobile calls
Surely not.
Pay and Free are clearly opposites.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Heh, yeah.
I can't remember how they worded it actually.
All inclusive, is the correct term maybe.
Well, I just removed the £3 international booster, so that backfired on them!0 -
Check that they haven't treated the specific conversation as being your confirmation that you want to renew the entire contract for another 12 or 18 months ... that's what happened to me.0

I would think carefully before changing to Giffgaff. They may be cheaper but when there is a problem with port in numbers they are very poor. They advise you to speak to an agent who gives generic replies. There are times when you have to speak to someone on the phone and the community cannot help. See my experience search in giff gaff community for NO SERVICE FOR 20 DAYS and you will see my troubles0

Apply on-line for their "Value Line Rental", £114 pa in advance (equals £9.50pm). If you don't make many calls, consider a downgrade from "Plus" (£14.50pm) to "Essentials"(£6.50pm), which also caps your broadband at 40GB pm. These actions will probable instigate a new 12 month commitment, but if the service is OK the last thing you want to do is switch.0

I think thats quite expensive.
I am currently on O2 for broadband, which was £10 a month, and was until last week with skytalk for calls and line rental.
For the last year or so I have been getting offers from sky which has kept me with them, until recently when I had to pay full price, approx £17.50 with unlimited calls plus I was charged for 0844/0870 numbers (which made up an extra £5 every month).
I decided to move the whole package to O2, because their broadband service has been impeccable. The offer I got is £7 odd for line rental (standard) £6 for unlimited calls, including 22 countries and 0845/0870 numbers, meaning my monthly has dropped to approx £23 from approx £32.... but as well as offering a very competitive price, just for taking their home phone service, they have given me free broadband for 6 months.... got to be happy with that
