What to give is a free service which lets you set up your own lists https://www.whattogive.com but its set up to link to other websites where people can buy a gift direct rather than giving you money.0 -
I did this for my wedding. We wanted contributions towards our honeymoon. If you arrange it through Trailfinders they give you little pamphlets that you can put in with the invites with your details on. People can leave messages on the site and leave a gift. The only limit is the minimum deposit is £25 some people may find this too much??? They don't charge and the addition of the pamphlet made it look better for the invites. Most of the major travel agents do this these days but I don't know what the fees would be like.
Hope she has a great day!!0 -
Places like debenhams John Lewis argos etc do gift lists. I know that on the Debenhams one you can have a gift card so that guest put money onto the card and you can then spend the money as you please (in the stores though)! dont know if other stores do this but if they do you could set one up at each store and have money gifted onto the cards so you can then get hwat you like!0

KarenW mentioned WhatToGive earlier. We used that site too. But it didn't just limits us to asking for specific gifts - we used it to ask people to give us money towards our honeymoon - using the site meant that we could break it down into bits so that people could choose which bit in particular they wanted to pay for. It worked great for this.
The site didn't take any payments though - in our case we asked people to send or give the cheques to my OH's best man. Although I think there was some option to tie it in to a PayPal account.
Our list is still up I think if anyone's interested:

I guess your friends could break the house down into bits like "the vegetable patch" "the flower garden" "the front porch" "The master bedroom" and stick those on a list and then ask people to contribute towards them! Might make it a bit more fun!
One thing we liked about the site was that after the wedding we were able to print out a list of all the "promises" with details of who had promised what. This proved useful for writing all the thankyou cards!:o0
