During our DMP we had some weekends away at a relatives place while they were away, we took our own food so these only cost us petrol.

We also had 2 holidays (1 paid for) abroad and 1 in the UK.

We were able to pay because I was lucky with overtime coming up and Mrs M had some redundancy pay. The holidays were important to us because Mrs. Mort has depression and is unable to leave the house on her own.

A more purist DFW would probably put the extra cash into paying of the debts but for us some time away was a more pressing need.

Last away trip was our honeymoon! In fact had mad panic trying to find passports. I have a work trip away in January and a friend has offered to take us away for holiday (just the adults) as part of a group for his 40th. We are very lucky! We are hoping to go for a break in the Uk some point this year but not sure if we can do an abroad holiday (all 3 of us) with the budget and then factor in the costs of looking after the mini zoo at home!
