Maternity bay parking ticket!!

I gave birth to my second child in August and parked in the free Maternity bays only to receive a parking ticket. We arrived at the hospital just after 7 in the morning and I gave birth to my daughter 2 hours later. By the time everything was sorted after the birth, my husband got back to the car around 12 noon to find that we had been given a parking fine at around 11.40am.

As it is now 4 months later and have already paid the ticket and i dont know if I kept the paperwork do you think I will be able to appeal now or is it pointless?

Who did you send the payment too? If it was a private company you can kiss your money goodbye. If it was the hospital you may have a slim chance!
You could sue whoever it was but its not worth it!

If it's a council ticket, if you've paid it's game over.

If it's a private 'ticket', if you've paid you'll have to take the company to county court. Even if you won, you would have problems getting the actual cash in your pocket as they'll probably just ignore any CCJ.
  • Glad you have now found us, pity you paid but I'm sure you know better now. Congrats on the little one.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
